The HealthWorx Diabetes Screening offers a comprehensive assessment of your metabolic health for an all-inclusive price of $499, with no referral required. 3What is the difference between prediabetes and type 2 diabetes?

Prediabetes occurs when blood sugar levels are higher than normal but have not yet reached the threshold for type 2 diabetes. It is clinically defined by a fasting glucose range of 100 to 125 mg/dL or an A1C level between 5.7% and 6.4%. In contrast, type 2 diabetes is diagnosed when fasting glucose is 126 mg/dL or higher, or the A1C is at least 6.5%. Because prediabetes is typically asymptomatic, it can only be detected through a blood test. Fortunately, the progression to type 2 diabetes can often be prevented or delayed through proactive lifestyle modifications, including a balanced diet, regular exercise, and weight management.

4What happens if I am diagnosed with diabetes through the screening?

If your results indicate prediabetes or type 2 diabetes, your HealthWorx provider will review them with you during your visit to discuss all available treatment options. This comprehensive approach includes lifestyle modifications, monitoring devices, and pharmacotherapy as clinically indicated. HealthWorx will continue to manage your care through our primary care membership or, if specialized treatment is required, provide a referral to an endocrinologist.
